Egyptian Painting - WIP

I’ve started my Egyptian painting. I’ve been doing a ton of research on ancient Egyptian history, myths and culture. It’s very fascinating stuff.

The pyramids have really drawn me in lately. I figured when I was a small child curious on how the pyramids were even built it would have been figured out by now. It’s insane to me how we still don’t know the: who, what, when, how of these massive structures.

My plan with this piece is have hieroglyphics along the boarder like you would find in a tomb along with a central pharaoh character holding a floating glowing pyramid with faint silouetts of pyramids in the background.

I’ve created my vision board for inspiration and practiced all the hieroglyphics. I have the boarder complete and the gradient background finished. Next step is to sketch out the character. I’m not sure if I’m going to do cartoony or realistic just yet. I’ll play around with both and see what I come up with or like more. My main goal of any painting is to make it light and fun.
